Financial Support
Student Financial Support
Financial support is available from a variety of sources: fellowships, training grants, teaching and research assistantships, scholarships, and loans. For additional details regarding the financial assistance on this page, or to inquire about alternative financial assistance, please contact Laurie Ward in the HST Academic Office, E25-518.
HST students need to be actively engaged in managing their financial support. Some students enter with funding secured, while others seek funding through various opportunities. Funding needs may change during your graduate experience either due to funding availability or your own research interests. Knowing types of funding support, sources of funding and the mechanism of financial support will ease the graduate experience and allow students to maintain their focus on research and academics.
IDEA2 Funding for Research Problem Identification
The IDEA2 program provides a structured process that guides, mentors, and supports the definition and development of research problems by HST students. Depending on the available resources, 1-3 semesters of partial student support may be provided. Click here for more details.
